Sakineh Ashtiani

An update on the case of Sakineh Ashtianti, the Iranian housewife who “confessed” to the crime of adultery and was sentenced to death by stoning.

It’s important to keep the media pressure up in this case, and the BBC report that was put out today and can be viewed here reminds us all as we face the new year, that this is another year the 43-year-old mother of three has been waiting in prison for the shambolic case against her to be finally thrown out.

§ One Response to Iranian woman condemned to death by stoning still awaits her fate

  • Pedro García says:

Religion is by tradition male dominated and a tool for Domination of the crowds. Free individuals are a threat to such traditions, and free female individuals even more so.

It’s time for the world and all people in it to turn it’s back on any religion that is not a positive and encouraging force in the world.

It’s time for the world and all individuals in it to choose belief and faith without submission to a few. Most religions today contain moral, ethical or other rules that are simply outdated and wrong.

It’s time to think and act responsibly.
